Will you help us impact the next generation of leaders?

Your support of our ministry, a 501(c)3 organization, is primarily needed for three key initiatives:

  1. Leaders to Lead (Staffing: Goal is to hire a MINISTRY/Programming Director and maintain 45+ coaches on staff; without leaders, no ministry can be accomplished); Check-out this amazing, six-minute video featuring Coach Terrance Vanlier - Leaders to Lead (

  1. Places to Play (Facilities: We are currently under a sub-lease with Alliance Volleyball Club in renting the Alliance Training Center. The club also rents approximately 12-15 different high school gyms, public and private, throughout Middle TN; without facilities, no ministry can be accomplished)

  1. Players to Play (Financial Assistance for Athletes: In the past 36 months, Stars Basketball Club has provided over $50,000 in scholarships to families who otherwise could not have participated with Stars Basketball; we desire to reach all athletes/families for Christ)

Stars Coach Testimony:

"I feel led to support Stars Basketball Club because of the club's organizational Christian ideals and beliefs. Stars Basketball Club believes in promoting high character amongst the youth that it serves while giving many opportunities for coaches and families to help support student/athletes. Continued financial support for the Stars organization will allow for youth to continue to play competitive basketball and grow and develop mentally, physically, and spiritually as young men and young women."

Stars Parent Testimony:

"We are proud to say that our son has played for the Stars program for the past 3 years. He has learned so much about the sport he loves from coaches who teach in a positive and faith-filled environment. He is not only learning about how to practice good sportsmanship on the court, but about how to be a leader in life off the court. We couldn't be more grateful for the Stars program!"

Williamson County School Coach:

"I feel led to support STARS basketball primarily for 2 reasons:

1) the organization is anchored in Christ, acting in a Christ-like manner, and holding coaches accountable, and sharing biblical truths to help bring young people to Christ.

2) the quality of the coaches and instruction. Coaches clinics, seminars, and other tools equip coaches to teach effectively, and it's offered continually, every season and during the off-season

Kids / parents actually get twice their investment, a Christian message coupled with quality youth basketball instruction & coaching. They don't have to be concerned about foul language or verbal abuse from the coaches."

Stars Coach Testimony:

"I donate to Stars because I believe in their mission. As coaches, we have the opportunity to build leaders on and off the court through the teachings of Christ. The kids and their families make it an enjoyable experience and I proud to be part of this organization."

Who is Stars Basketball Club?

Launched in January 2014, Nashville Youth Sports Club (d.b.a. - STARS BASKETBALL CLUB) is now blessed to be the largest basketball club in Nashville, operating hubs in both Williamson County & Sumner County. Our mission is "Planting Seeds for Christ Through Basketball." We provide year-round basketball opportunities for 3rd - 12th grade athletes through travel teams and developmental programming (camps, clinics, 3-on-3 play, etc.). In 2020, we will connect with approximately 2,000 families.

Focus on a "More Than" Experience:

The club attributes our growth to placing a central priority on providing a "More Than" experience. This impact is seen both ON and OFF the court! Upward Stars is focused on helping athletes develop: MENTALLY, ATHLETICALLY, SPIRITUALLY, and SOCIALLY. These four pillars of impact are derived from Luke 2:52 - And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.

Coaches & Character Lessons:

One way in which the "OFF court" impact is accomplished is through spoken character lessons. Our coaching staff has shared approximately 1,000 character lessons with our participants over the past three years at team practices and/or via clinics/camps. These lessons are based on Scripture and are directly connected to sports and every-day life. Character lesson topics, just to list a few, have included: Teamwork, Wisdom, Leadership, Perseverance, Effort, Discipline, Integrity, Courage, Commitment, and Service.

Delivering Results on the Court:

From an athletic performance perspective, the club's 2018 and 2019 spring/summer tournament teams competed at the highest levels, having won 50+ championships, earning 60+ runner-up finishes, & 70+ semi-final appearances in national/regional/and local tournaments (AAU Nationals, HoopSeen Events; Phenom Hoops Events, etc.). Currently 19 of our athletes are playing collegiately and/or have committed to play next year (our Class of 2020).

How to Give:

Thank you in advance for giving to Stars Basketball Club and allowing our organization to impact athletes/families for Christ! Our goal is to have 100 donors that agree to give monthly ($10 a month or greater); however, if you prefer to make a one-time gift, that would be awesome as well!
